Jasper County Animal Control strives to provide the best services for people and animals alike in Jasper County. With that, we are starting new guidelines for animals that we take into our care per Department of Agricultural guidelines.
- All animals that come into our facility will be vaccinated against Distemper, Parvovirus, Bordatella, and Rabies. All of the vaccines with the exception of rabies will be administered on sight upon admission of the animal.
-Rabies has to be administered by a licensed veterinarian, and since we do not have a veterinarian on staff, we will be working with our local vets to administer that shot. With that being said, we have to work around their schedule and our staffs schedule to get that vaccine to your animal before it can leave the facility.
-If your pet already has it's rabies shot, you are either required to show us proof by proving a physical copy of the rabies certificate or providing us with the phone number of the vet clinic where the shot was administered so we can obtain a copy from them.
- To take into factor our costs of animal control services, boarding, building overhead, and immunizations, our return to owner fees will be changing.
Price will be determined based on:
-If the animal is spayed or neutered
-If the animal is up to date on Rabies
-How long the animal is at our facility
We recommend that every pet has proper immunizations. It is your responsibility as a pet owner to keep up on their vaccinations to help keep our community safe. It also means that if your pet happens to get out and brought to our facility, they can leave much sooner if they are up to date on everything.
We thank you for your support during this new change.
